Alpine decks are very flashy but as for sound.....they are so so.....Clarion makes a very nice sound q deck...drz9255 you would hear a big difference with this deck!

I still have a clarion 9255 and I think it is the best head unit ever made, but yes I would say an alpine head unit is usually the best thing you are going to be able to go buy that will work and not break

what I like about the 9255 is that it is a no frills head unit, no eq settings, no super bass, no sound field settings, just a good analog volume knob and dual 24 bit burr-brown digital-analog converters. and it ran on 30 volts. had an outboard up converter.

It is the same as it always has been. I doubt that they have changed id much since the one that you have. I used to have one and it was a nice unit. Now that I drive the truck all the time it did not make any sence to have it in there. http://www.clarion.com/us/en/product...912142959.html

I haven't looked for most of that stuff in a few years either. Ebay seems to be a good source for parts.
