I've always been a big fan of Boston Acoustics. Never ran them in a boat but in current vehicle and several others and home stereo. Very smooth and reasonably priced. The sound quality of marine specific speakers is terrible IMO, especially the Clarion's.
Regular speakers are pretty cheap, so if they would happen to fail or get damaged in the boat, simply replace them.

The JL is the highest priced on the market, Are they really better than MB Quart for the $$$$????? JL 7.7 = $300, MB Quart 6x9 = $150
I do not like having to drill an extra tweeter hole.
What about the best amps? I am looking to upgrade mine now. Any suggestions would be helpful.
