Jaguar project
3 Attachment(s)
My Jag project is finally coming to fruition. It's taken about 2.5 years to get here. Hope you like it!
There are a couple more photos in the Jaguar forum. :D Due |
Re: Jaguar project
sweet looking rig, are those padlocks on the engine hatch? got any black magic in the engine compartment :D dont forget to remove the padlocks before you run it as they would probably trash the paint in that area. let us know how she runs. whats in it for power?

Re: Jaguar project
Awesome!!!!!

Re: Jaguar project
Absolutely awsome boat...Who made the supports on the windshield with the pads on the inside?? I have a 36' Warlock Cat and the cockpit is very similar...I would love to have a set like that made.

Re: Jaguar project
Ratman-
I keep the padlocks on only when the boat's not in use. You're right: they'd beat-up the paint. Nothing exotic for power: mild/low boost 572's about 850hp. go- the windshield supports are a combination of the original, but modified Jag carbon fiber supports and exterior trim pieces. The interior/padded composite panels were custom made by an aircraft interior company. Thanks for the compliments! Due |

Thanks everyone. I'll post photos of the original race boat after Jeff at Freeze Frame sends me DVDs of some of the races, in which it ran.
Not sure what to do about graphics, but (if any) they're going to be relatively simple and clean. Here's a photo (taken months ago) of one of the engines. The engine compartment (as was the whole boat) was totally re-rigged. Due |

Luckily, the boat ended right-side up (you know) then Bill got on the deck and kissed the boat.
Hardly a scratch on the boat with no damage: except to Bill's ego. Bill told me that he was pissed at the throttle man for tucking the drives, dropping the tabs, and chopping the throttle: all at the same time....while Bill was steering hard. I almost forgot about the freak gust of wind that didn't help . Bill gave Jack a plaque for building the safest race boat. |
Re: Jaguar project
I take it you have the video from "inside" the cockpit...
They were very lucky to land right side up after that...! |

Re: Jaguar project
Congratulations John!!!Very professional....Have fun.

Re: Jaguar project
John, the boat looks great, congrats! We ran the crap out of the old Chris last year pregnant wife and all. Unfortunately I lost a piston, at the Cumberland Poker Run, when the sea strainer cover shattered from exessive pressure....make sure you install blowoffs on the water intake side if you are going to run that puppy out. Well, is it as fast as the Chris was? :D
|
Re: Jaguar project
Ryan, Phantom-
Thanks for the photos! I'll add them to my collection. Andy, Lloyd, John- Thanks for the kudos :D . Blew the cover off of the sea strainer! You must have the Chris honkin! The Jag has Stainless Marine strainers with blow-off valves, so hopefully that'll do the trick (altho I never blew the cover on the Chris). Lloyd: how's the Motion coming? Due |
Re: Jaguar project
The Jag looks great. Now of course we need action shots. You really did an awesome job on the boat. the interior looks incredible. How much boost are you running? My motors just came back from Pfaff and this time were dynoed. I need a good year. Keep the pics coming. Doug

Re: Jaguar project
Doug-
Thanks! I asked you a question on the Jag forum. Due |
Re: Jaguar project
John, Looks like the boat is finally coming together for you. It is a big change from the last time I talked to you at the Dallas boat show!! It is really shaping up!! I know what it looked like before so I can appreciate all the work done on it!! Congrats!! You should bring it to one of the Poker Runs on Travis when you get it finished. :drink:
