It was referred to as a t-top! Not really a conapy, just an enclosed air conditioned cockpit!

Thank you Deranged. Yes Tom Adams was the creator of the old "Signature" hulls and yes he made a t-topped version. He was also the builder who was killed tragically in the early 80's. Finally, his hulls, which had very distinctive deck styling looked EXACTLY like the first Hustlers........

T2x...Looked exactly like the hustlers? The earlier Hustlers are almost identical, leading me to believe they either bought the deck mold or used a deck to build the plug - Just my ..02 Also, Tommy didn't just die violently, he was "whacked" for ripping off a few of his business associates!

Correct...but I tried not to be quite so blunt.....About both the deck AND hull molds of Signature versus Hustler...... and about Tommy Adams.

Some years ago one of the Fiore's took offense to my comments about them buying the old Signature molds.... They claim it was just "coincidence"...... At that moment a camel flew by...Hell froze over ....and his nose grew very, very long

T2x, sorry but I got to your post late. I totally agree with you hatred of the step bottom and the beak. That's why in 1991 I bought the best V bottom ever built a Sutphen. Out runs everything in the rough and can out turn any step bottom at comprable speeds. And you don't see yourself comming every five minutes.

Your secret is safe with me. I had a 40 Sutphen that Rich built for me. I bought a new Spectre this year that you saw a dutchmans. It ran 163 on GPS this summer. Kurt was driving. You remember that maelstrom, ran over 110 if you had the balls and the life insurance. That was when 100 was the cats ass.
