Opinions? Speeds? I like the 36 Twin step Pantera anyone know how fast it would go don't think ive seen one staggered although that is a option.

I think the 42' Fountain Poker Run, the 39' Outerlimits and the 39 Skater V all run around 100mph with staggered 525's

Donzi 38 zr will hit 90, the 35 zr, though not staggered but with the same power, should see at least a couple more mph.

The one in the classifieds runs 94 I think and its not staggered (anyone know what you should pick up with staggered speed wise) and it has full cabin too.

Thats smoking. Thier 42 poker run gos 95 according to thier website. How did they get 19 mph more out of it..(is that the same hull?)

I don't think thats a production boat (light lay up or undrivable at normal speeds to plane ect.) so I wouldn't count it. :D I am considering boats I could buy with a cabin and open cockpit.

merc=fountain... pick a good pair that r stronger... done in showroom stock racing ALL the time by dealers and by manufacturers sending cars to magazines for tests

You're talking Merc 525's right? Is there a big variance from one to the next? Take it for what it's worth, but I've heard that most Merc 525's are under-rated, putting out anywhere from 535 to 545 pshp. I remember JC Perf saying this.

The new baja poker run boat claims 92mph with 525's. thats pretty impressive without stagger and no steps.

Beachbob, I think you would lose alot of cockpit space on the 36 pantera w/ staggered motors. They build a great boat, but definitely not the fastest.

Actually I saw one at the boat show I believe they have 2 hulls now one is a light layup and is like 1500lbs lighter and a wholebunch more money too..Not sure about the speed but its a special edition or something like that so could be :cool:

that all depends if you want to know which stagg with 525 is faster in flat water or ruff water :D

The new Baja being talked about has a carbon fiber lay up or something special, it only weights like 6000lbs and yea it is pretty impressive.
