with 7% slip factor and the info you gave
@ 7000 rpm = 160 mph best case @ 6500 rpm = 148 mph best case |
bruce the engine are on jackshafts and i have all 3 sets to change position also the gear ratio is 1.33 not 1.31 it didnt want positive trim with small blocks and i dont think it would anyway. boat will be out of the paint shop in 2 weeks and then the fun begins RIGGING the engines will be dyno'ed soon and i will post the outcome of that. also at the same time i am working on this mess i am rerigging my 31 american offshore. its getting boxes an 2" short drives and engines are getting freshing up. i hope it picks up speed also what do you guys on oso think about the expected speed of that one also the best it ever ran was 115 on gps at 5900 rpm 32pitch hydro4blades see ya :D

Merlin I would consult with Skater on the location of the big blocks. I think they should be moved back some. Peter Hedlin will help you if you give him the opportunity. The 32's are very sensitive to CG, your adding alot of weight vs. the small blocks.

Merlin - the original setup running 107 @ 7800 rpm results in a slip factor of +-20%. Placement of new engines will be critical for proper CG and proper drive height with 4 blades will definately reduce slip. Assuming you get to +-10% which is realistic, the boat should run approx 143 @ 6500.
Good luck and be careful - sounds like an awesomw ride! |
Hey Charlie, seems like the Agitator will be back and strong. good luck, would like to see pix after the paint shop

I come up with 152 mph at 12% slip at 7000 rpm thats alot of rpm!!!!!!!!

Merlin ,
As we discussed before , below is the specs on my 32 SKATER.... 32 Skater with # 5 drives on standoff boxes 1.50 gear ratio Huber 1330 trans Twin 900 HP , 500 cu in blower motors 17 1/2 x 34 4 blade labbed props in race conditions 7200-7300 RPM = 135 MPH ( RADAR ) With true 1000 HP per side your boat should run 140 ... Good luck with everything , keep us informed....... Skater ( MARK H. ) |
Hey man... be careful out there...
ya know... :(  :o   :) |
