help with estimate of top speed
how fast do you think my 32 skater will run??
1000hp supercharged engines #4 drives 1.31 ratio with 34 pitch 4 blades i want to see 135mph do you think that is possible. want to turn engine between 6500 to 7000 rpm. thanks to the members of offshore only for the help!!!!!! :D |
Have a friend that has same ratio and pitch with 502 crates just carbs 36'awasome cat and he runs 112mph 5800rpm so you should see it go man go

My 36 foot cat with a pair of 1000's, number VI dry sumps with 1:33 gears and 17 1/2 35, 5 blades, runs 153 on GPS. Yours should easily run in the high 130's. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

he is difinitly spinning those boys hard
but it takes alittle while to get there depending on the wind to lift the tunnel up |
Otto those five blades arn't cheap, do you think there wroth the money compared to the 4 blades I have 17 1/2 29 #5 drives how much slip do you lose by changing? nice ride
|
They really only changed two things,Vibration and handling(handles like it's on rails).
|
And yes they were worth it!!
|
Thanks Otto i heard they reduce slipage buy 7-8% is that true
|
If the boat is already hooked up with the 4 Blades then 6-8 % is rather optimistic.

Hey Merlin540 - Using your hull and a pair of 900SC in my power vs. speed program I get 145 mph with that pitch and ratio. Assuming ideal slip of 5%, that would happen at 6000 RPM.
There have been a few 32s built with 800SC, but it seems to me they were often quickly traded in by their owners for 36 Skaters. Wasn't there a 32 in a magazine last year with 1000+ HP going 150? Scary. If you could send me more info on weight, engine specs and speed with original engines and props, I could fine tune my prediction. Wicked ride man! :D [ 02-01-2002: Message edited by: tomcat ] |
