In a pool your going to kill it, so go cheap.. If she likes it, then the fun begins

RC Donzi

If you want to step up, I have a Sea Twister that was a little more than your budget, but it outruns the cheaper ones by miles.. Long battery life, uses9.6 volt cells. I would shop it, I found it locally for way less than online, paid 135 for it with a spare cell... I had a couple 12 volt cells made for it, bought a bronze prop and labbed it, she flies now..

I did it myself.. Balanced, polished.. Not hard to do really.

Here's my "after" GPS reading....

Scott B. - thanks.
I'm just looking for a toy for her (for now...) If she is into it, more serious hardware will be on the way.

That link to the Donzi looks good, but the one review said it got water in it and killed it. I just want to get her something fun.
Kinda funny, the R/C boat is just as unreliable as any other REAL performance boat.

I have not seen the Donzi one, but if any of em get water in the motor you have problems.. I think I woulld spray the motor with corrosion block or something before I launched it.

I killed two of the tigers (well, OK, I killed one when I pulled the resistor off of the motor and smoked it shortly afterwards. But it was faster ) in short order. They also suffer from water intrusion..
