Regrettable, but not the worst thing one can do to his engine. I'm sure you're not the first to do this. Only thing left is to fix it and move on. You'll probably never make THAT mistake again.
Generators have a sensor that shuts off the ignition if there is no water flow. Mercruiser should consider this technology. |

On our rig the plate says "port" and "starboard" where you plug the hose but I bet that one day I'll miss it anyway.... so welcome to the idiot crowd... :D

IDIOT...and it takes one to know one. Last year i forgot to turn the water on and burned one up myself. It was one week old.........

No, can't do it, I'll give you a free pass on that one, done worse myself :drink:
Broke two 6' $100 dollar vhf antennas on different occasions backing the boat into my shop, second time it hit the door just right and took the overhead door off it's tracks :( |
