My computer crashed yesterday. Will not even boot up. When I turn it on it gives me a message that says:
"Please insert bootable media into approprate drive"
Anyone have any idea what happened??? Nickslick???
I'm using the other computer I have, but it took me nearly 2 hours to log onto OSO with it. It wants to do a scan disc everytime I turn it on. It got half way thru it in 2 hours before I exited and did it the hard and long way. This one is painfully slow.
Anyone got any suggestions? Keep the cocky ones to yourselves, I'm not in the mood.

Mike, I think to turn off a scheduled task you need to click on start, accessories, system tools, scheduled tasks and see if scan disk is set to run each time you boot. Not positive about this but you might want to try.

If running a Windows operating system. Click "Start";Click "Run"; enter msconfig in blank ;hit enter this will bring you to the "System Config." screen you can uncheck anything you do not want to startup in the "startup" tab.
Good Luck

If you clisk START, then click RUN, type in: msconfig, then look for STARTUP and click that. There you will see everthing that is checked off and what is set to run evertime you startup your computer. Good Luck!
