Re: 41' Apache molds for sale

I know where an original set is that can be had for half of that.

Or they can build you a boat for the price of these molds plus power. :D

Re: 41' Apache molds for sale

Well one thing, Whatever 41 molds you have access to will NEVER be as straight as these, These were done via computer and CNC machines to cut the plug and take out all the waves and the mold was Vacuume bagged to the plug, So any boat you make out of this will be one of the straightest 41's in the history books. Not to toot anyones horn and believe me Thad is NOT a friend of mine, but the molds are perfect, believe me I was THERE!

Re: 41' Apache molds for sale

Hmmm. Somebody already building boats should get these then. I think it would make a GREAT new AT.

Re: 41' Apache molds for sale

I think no one wants to deal with Thad or Thads liquidation lawyers and or companies but I dont know that for sure.

Re: 41' Apache molds for sale

Ok, not trying to start up something but did.nt this design have the vented steps that S. Koss designed?

I don't see them in the mold, maybe a lift out tooling section?

Interesting name Paragon?

Re: 41' Apache molds for sale

Are these the molds that made the one off that was for sale ?. The one Jason was looking at and ApacheCarl got the boot over. It was 60k ? Did someone buy it? If so just curious to hear how it turned out with all the R&D in it.

How long did you work there?

Re: 41' Apache molds for sale

The T4 that was the One Off that you are referring to was NOT made from the mold, that mold has NEVER had any boat laid up in it. The T4 was one they did by hand out of the original mold and then worked on for MONTHS to get it right. Just to clarify that point. I had talked to the liquidiation company that was selling it and to verify a few points.
NO MSO came with the boat, No HID number nothing.
No parts came with the boat, you just got raw fiberglass parts, not even assembled, All the custom goodies we ordered and had made for the T4 are GONE,
No engines, the 1200 Cobra power engines are gone
No drives the #6 DS drives for the boat are GONE!
Dana marine products, K planes, hatch hinges, all the powder coated stuff, gauges and bezels, all the membrane switches all gone.
I dont know if they still have it or not, I got them down to 50 grand and I told them that without an MSO and the name "apache" on it, you are not going to get that dollar amount, they decided to hold out hope that they would, I said I would give them 25 grand right then and there and they denied me, so oh well.

Man that's alot of money sitting there going to waste. Too bad they couldn't get that deal off the ground.

I hear they'll throw in an extra 500 gallons of resin so you can build the 1st boat :D

Re: 41' Apache molds for sale

All the older molds ended up with Mcmanus. 36 and 28, gone. Part of the deal was that the step-bottom abortion was chopped up into sawdust. The deck is what's hanging in the pictures. It's allegably usable but I didn't take any core samples to see if that was true or false.

The 41 mold is the CNC Thad project. What's left at the Delray plant is what you see in Martyn's pictures. The hurricane is why the hull mold likes nasty. Martyn's a decent guy to talk with if you call him.

It's not bad stuff but it's 8'2" beam. I made several offers but nothing was consumated. We figured that for the money we could start from scratch and build something a little wider. Plus we really want the walk-around non-skid vs. stairs up a dash.

Re: 41' Apache molds for sale

Seems like every 1/2 a year or so a 41 Apache mold comes up for sale. How many 41 Apache molds are out there? How can you tell what is an original 41 Apache mold? Also would a 41 Apache mold from the 80's still be good and straight anyway?

Good move you guys  :D . I Like a little wider beam anyways, especially when you start to get into the 40's'. Design your own, keep that A.T look that your customers have come to love. 200k is way too much coin. Even 100k is off base especially if your only after the top deck. Good Luck Pat and _ _ _ . :drink: Jeff

Go Pat...As we discussed a 40+ is money in the bank for the AT team and I could find a good pre-owned 37!

Pat do your own 42. stay with what you know. 200k is way to much to have to retool it the way you want it. I am sure you already walked onthis one anyway.

The 41 origanl molds are at Saber, they fixed them up after the 1995 Government auction, and started building 41's. Somebody should build the 36's and 28's they are great boats.
