Active - stay in the water and run. I could fill about 14 pages with reasons not to travel by land, but the route you describe has to be about the toughest to trailer in the country. Why put yourself and your investment through that? I'd pay double, and take twice as long to go a different way just to cut down on the stress of the route you describe. When I ran flatbed I was 65' total length x 102" wide & ran thru the tunnels w/no problem. It all depends on what time of the day your looking to do this. Where exactly are you going to ?

When I brought the Apache home from Massachusetts, the GW was closed due to an accident.

I had to take the back way to get to the belt and over the VZ bridge. That was the most stress full trailering experience I've ever had! At one point I was at a light and had to cross over 4 lanes of bumper to bumper traffic to get to the exit.

After about 30 minutes of this crap I just started blowing thru the traffic and didn't even care that I had the boat behind me. :eek: I gave lots of hand gestures and yelled some choice words out the window! 5 1/2 hr drive from Mass turned into an 8 1/2 hr drive. :mad:

Never again!

I would not go into Manhattan on a dare, just asking for problems. I would do the VZ also, its not a bad ride. The Bayonne Bridge is a great short cut, I have had straight trucks on it not sure about trailers. Heres a link to the PA, they have phone numbers to the specific bridge or tunnel. I would call and ask them any questions you may have.

Why not take the veranzo bridge to staten island then bayone bridge to jersey/liberty landing?
