Jacksonville Florida is booming in construction and needs contractors, St Johns river gives you year round boating, access to the Ocean and home cost are a lot cheaper than south Fl.
Just an Idea
Kinda of the best of 2 worlds,

Austin, Not sure what kind of Contractor you are but plenty of building in and around Austin.

This last weekend met a boater that had towed his boat for 16 hrs from New Mexico to Travis. He said he lived just a few hrs from Powell & Havasu. I asked him if it was worth the tow and he said he would make the trip again this year.

Plumbing service. Anyone know what kind of money can be made in Austin? In S. FL you can make 60-80k a year as an average and more in some cases. Just wondering if its the same there. Looking to down size bills and get a new boat. If we stay in FL we will have to refinance house plus insurance and taxes are out of hand. Thanks to all keep the replies coming. Also if anyone from Austin would like to give some more specifics on the area post um or pm me thanks

The perfect set-up is a place in Nj/NY, a place in So. FL. and a place in the mountains (colrado, idaho, etc.). I don't think any one place is perfect

Try New Orleans, real estate down, construction up. A cop friend of my wife said, alot is for sale and construction will go on for years. He just came back, thats his Key West, for a get away.

Real estate can only go up now, but flood insurance may screw you..

Maryland is booming, but the real estate 10yrs ago for $180k is going for $400-1mill now, on the water.
