Re: Early 40' Cig's Raceboat ?
That boat started out as the Cigarette factory race boat for Billy Martin, called Bounty Hunter and it was a 39 foot boat....it was sold to Michel Maynard and run as Fayva Shoes and then Copeland bought it.

Not pretty? I think it´s beautiful. I understood it to be a good rough water boat. Is this the case?? Did it weigh as much as much as a house?!

Well Littlenige, I did not mean ugly but quite different from what at least I am used to se of Cig from the seventies. Actually the boat as "Bounty Hunter" is quite spectacular with great color-scheme. A little "european" style with the foredeck. I assume the boat on the enclosed top pic is the 39' and the lower pic is a 35' race boat ? Wonder why we get confused..

I remember the "Night Moves" and the publicity of this Performer said was a 36'....with the appearances of a Cig. 40' but with a different "wheel house". Now this fast cruise version but however the same appearance that the same of the Cigarettes..... Can you help me to know something more of Performer? |
Re: Early 40' Cig's Raceboat ?
the boat they used by the way was the old "Diamond Don" which caught fire and sat in front of Offshore Marine(the more famouse locations of Doller Offshore) in Ft. Lauderdale for a time n the 80's...
