Question Boating near Tucson, AZ

Hi Guys,

Been traveling to Tucson lately for work and may have the opportunity to move there. I am not real familiar with the area. Any close boating places around? I know Havasu and Powell are "close" still in AZ, but looking at ~1hr tow from Tucson. A friend told me Phoenix has some great lake to boat on...

Thanks~
Zack

Tucson is 1 hour from Phoenix. Havasu is 3 1/2 hours from Phoenix and Powell is about 4 hours from Phoenix. If you lived in Tucson you would have to add an hour at least to these tow times. I live in Phoenix and mainly go to Lake Pleasant 30 minutes or Saguaro Lake 45 minutes from home. Pleasant is the biggest party lake, but Saguaro is still pretty good. There is also Canyon Lake about 45 minutes... pretty lake, but no partying going on. Bartlett is also about 30 minutes, also a pretty lake without a whole lot of partying. Roosevelt Lake is about a two hour tow and is also pretty, but more of a mellow weekend type trip. Also Apach Lake wich is difficult to get to (2 lane dirt road for about 30 minutes) and takes around 3 hours to get to. As far as I know, not any boating around Tucson other than row boats. Sorry so long, but wanted to give u a detailed description. Keep me posted.

Sounds great, sleek1. It may be a little bit, but I'm entertaining the notion. I do A LOT of motorcycle riding, and the area is perfect. Trying to sell my boat and step up several feet. Got a guy coming from Milwaukee on Sunday to take a look...
