We are near to be ready ....for the summer vacation .....our choice are made ....we going to do a lot of Boating .....525 Miles .....in 7 day`s ...... but all of our summer vacation alway`s look like that ......the trip begin at West Island Mass. July 24 at the boat ramp.....and we have Mooring for the night at Edgartown (Martha`s Vinyard)
July 25 Block Island ...60 miles .....no reservation yet ..and he ask me for a 2 day minimum !!!!
July 26 Greenport ...thank`s StormRider for the advice .....62 miles
July 27 Fire Island ....sleep at Ancher....thank`s CBR for the tips......65 Miles
July 28 Manhatan ....Liberty State Park .....58 miles
July 29 Port Jefferson ......no reservation yet ......67 miles
July 30 Mystic Sea Port ...reservation Ok...85 miles
July 31 ...go home .....and hope the trip are going well !!!!!

You're boating in one of the greatest maritime areas in the country...have fun, you'll love it!!!

25 Hors, try to time your trip from Greenport thru Shinnecock and down past West Hampton Beach so that it is high tide in the State Boat Channel past West Hampton Beach. The channel is EXTREMELY narrow and many boats go aground in it, so have I. The good news is that it is all sand.

Do you have a place in mind for Port Jeff ? There is Danfords which is a little pricey but does have shower facilities. The town of Brookhaven has transient slips and may be cheaper but no showers. I would strongly suggest that being this falls on a weekend a reservation should be made ASAP. If push comes to shove you can use my mooring in pirates cove which is a short hop to town. Use 1 boat to dock at Danfords for the showers and site seeing. This may save you some coin for gas. Be happy to help you out.

One more thing...while heading towards Greenport there's a HUGE rock about a mile from shore called Miller's Rock a few miles east of Mt Sinai inlet. If you want I'll send you my Long Island chart and I also have the big book of all marinas with good navigation suggestions. Email me your address and I'll send it you as long as you return it.
