Even brand new boats have electrical problems.

if your boat is in good condition, then spend the money, I think it will help the value of the boat when you sell, money well spent

as i recall he sold his scarab, or at least he was in the process of sellign it. I do believe eth wiring issues were part of the problem. But overall it was the lack of reliability in his boat that was killing him.
