Re: 225 Optimax Modifications???
Lots of places to look for speed.. Setup is key , props, lose some weight somewhere, jack plates etc etc...pair of 300's :D Optis are meant to be clean and quiet

Re: 225 Optimax Modifications???
Yike
Ok first, G-Force is NLA, Gene is a merc racing guy....... not an Opti guy. You cannot modify an opti...... that is it. Nobody has bothered to try. Buy bigger motors if you are looking for a power increase. If you have a normal 2 stroke and want more power, look to Diamond Marine, Power Performance Engineering. The rest don't add up. RT |
Re: 225 Optimax Modifications???
Thanks guys, I got it. No mods to optimaxes. Would like to buy new power however I need three. Wait to hit lotto.
I have already rigged the boat to it's max. Big boat needs power. It will be cheaper to put on one more 225 than to buy the new 300 optis . Quad set up was original, last owner changed it to trips. Thanks for the advice  Tony |

Re: 225 Optimax Modifications???
Talked to Diamond Marine today, regs changed in 2005 and dealers are subjected to big $$$$$$$fines for EPA regs.

Re: 225 Optimax Modifications???
Gene works for a marina now.
At that, Gene subed out his machine work to Jim Ruck. If you want HP from a 2 stroke, Call Diamond or Power Performance, this is like Eickert and Sterling for 2 strokes. RT |
