Haven't been on the new Fountains but I was on a 42 non-step with tripples a couple dozen times and hated the ride. Maybe the new designs are better?
It was also a wet ride when it was rough. I don't think I've ever gotten wet on the Apache.... yet...

At cruise, 40-60mph the 38' scarab. 37'10" with 8'9" beam, straight 24deg V with large lifting strakes carry the bow real well over the sloppy stuff. Over 60mph a 42 fountain is hard to beat.
