Great Pics, Awesome turnout!!!

Re: Chicago Poker Run 2006
The official entry count was 77 at Friday night at 7pm. We told everyone that did not register by that time to sign up in the morning. There was a line in the morning so all I can officially say is that there was more than 77 registered boats.
The count means nothing to me. Everyone seemed to a fun time partying together. The Port Authority of East Chicago, East Chicago Marina and Resorts Casino provided a great venue for the Chicago Poker Run. Mark |
Re: Chicago Poker Run 2006
Great pictures! I'm so glad that all went well. Wish I could have made it. See everyone soon! Keep the pictures coming! That tall wall water makes every boat look better.

Re: Chicago Poker Run 2006
I want to thank Mark, Frank, Dan and all of the other club members that put on this poker run. You guys/girls did a first class job. Very impressive turnout of people in the performance industry and the hardware was awsome.
Dan, as usual you have a ton of pictures! Great job to everyone involve, we had a great time. Rick |

Re: Chicago Poker Run 2006
Good press is the best , we get such a hard time most of the time its good to see something good said. Thanks to everyone who attended this year, its for a great cause and the board throws a hell of a party. See what you got for 400 bucks , just imagine what you might get if we charged more. Not going to happen I hope. Wish I could have been out playing with you all on the water but look out next year thiers going to be a "Python" bite'n down on ya.

Re: Chicago Poker Run 2006
Mark, congratulations managing the event. From the comments and a couple people I have talked to everybody had a great time. The most positive comments seem to be the Casino's facilities. Sound perfect.s. Will try to make it next year.
I see from the posted pics that a Fountain, one of the "Rio Roses", was on the run. I imagine you guys had your hands full picking up dead cats. :evilb: Sorry, couldn't pass that one up. :D |
Re: Chicago Poker Run 2006
That is a first class event. The rough water can be a humbling experience. Never got past 1/2 throttle. I broke an MSD box right off the mounts from crashing so hard in the holes. Rumor was a Cigarette was sinking after it broke in the rough water? Now that is some nasty water.

Dan,
Puleeez tell me you have that footage of us running...... Just saw Preacher's clip and the hair stood up on the back of my neck! The copters were definitely on us! Rich |
Re: Chicago Poker Run 2006
Brad, you know how this lake can get. It makes me laugh when I read some posts that say lake Michigan does'nt get that snotty, wait till you get to the ocean. I'd rather run the ocean any day before those hammering 6+ footers and deep 8+ foot holes. We did have some damaged equiptment. A 38 Cig did get a hole punched through it's side below the water line. Thanks to some very quick thinking, the owner dropped the tab on that side of the boat, and lifted the opposite one to lean the boat in favor of the basketball size hole in his stbd side. He was able to run it about 5 miles into a marina and get it up out of the water before it sank.
He said that the alternators on the engines were completely under water. The boat did not sink thanks to a seasoned offshore driver behind the controlls. :D |

Rich I'm sure that he has the footage. There's soo much footage that it'll take days to go through all of it. 5 helocopters and 6-7 cameras running. The unedited version of the poker run on DVD will take a whole weekend to watch. Frank "The Preacher" |

Re: Chicago Poker Run 2006
THANK YOU.....to everyone involved in this event!! For the second year, Marcy and I have had a spectacular time. I don't care if you have a 22 footer, a 51 footer, or no boat at all, this club treats you like their best buddy. We met a lot of new friends this weekend, and met a couple of skyscraper size waves, and came home unbroken. Again, thanks everyone.

Re: Chicago Poker Run 2006
What happened to the "Cat Killer", he should have been trying to figure out how to tame the Big Water, instead of bragging how fast his boat is on a river. From what I saw, a stock 125 mph Outerlimits GTX was an honest 15 minutes ahead of that thing at the last card stop, and at least 5 minutes ahead at every other one.
Where is the photo shoot and press release from this event????????? Anybody can build a boat that runs hard on the river, but the Big water is what seperates the men from the boys!!!!! Congrats GATORONE on the "Wave Killer" |

Re: Chicago Poker Run 2006
So Reggie wasn't running in a the "Cat Killer", and wasn't complaining that the T.V. crew he had on board his boat was the reason he couldn't run it up in the big water??????
