The Rio Roses former race boat now poker runner.
Rich Troppolli and Anthony Smith. A little about Anthony Smith. Anthony owns Wazzup Motorsports. He built these 510 cu.in./750 hp engines that are in the Rio Roses poker runner boat. After a lenghty conversation with Anthony I came to the conclusion that he is a very knowledgeable, and talented young man. He knows all about the Merc #6 drives, and is very, very technical when talking racing engines. Anthony wants to be more involved in the poker run sport. He had a great time in Chicago, and will be back again next summer for next years event. In the meantime, anyone that is looking for a freshen up on their engine package, or looking for a pr. of engines for the race course or poker running, should really contact Anthony. His prices are very, very reasonable, and his quality of work is second to none. Mike Merola, maybe you can give us a little more info on how to contact Wazzup Motorsports, and talk some shop with Anthony. Anthony, it was a great pleasure meeting you and talking engines and drives with you. Maybe I'll see you at 1000 islands poker run, but if not, keep up the good work, and we'll be looking for you next year here at the "windy" city. Best of luck in your business from all the guys and gals here in Chicago. Frank |

Frank Frank, That was very kind of you to post that about Anthony.I did not know him very well when he took on the job of rebuilding my Merc's. I had followed his success's with the Wazzup boat and knew there was something there when it came to building motors. I've been all over with my stuff from shop to shop, even Mercury, and I can't tell you how pleased I am with his work. Equally pleased with how he ran the boat.Boy was I impressed! The making of a great team. He's hooked on Poker Running due to the great people of Chicago and his acceptance into the fold like you always knew him.He likes being around all the iron too.And like he told me, no stress,no aggravation,no tech inspectors, just having fun in our raceboat. Hey, are you really coming to 1000 islands? That would be really awesome to hang with you there, and the team feels the same way. Rich |
Re: Chicago Poker Run 2006
You'll have some Chi-town company at 1000 Islands...Bob Zubik in his new 42 Executioner and I believe the Show Stopper 42 Tiger are going as well.

Re: Chicago Poker Run 2006
Thanks so much to the CPC and the whole gang in East Chicago last weekend. You were all excellent hosts, and I really enjoyed my weekend. BZ, DT42, Roger, Payton, MarkSmith, Jamie, 10x, MagicMedicine, Candyman, BoatFreak, it was great to meet/see all of you; and I look forward to the next time we can run again together.
After last weekend, if I ever build another AT, I think I am going to name it: "Hurricane Ditka" http://myspace-072.vo.llnwd.net/0054...47436072_s.jpghttp://www.thiefsden.net/archives/superfans.jpg |
