Re: Center Console or Go Fast?
FeverMike, if it were only that easy!!!

Re: Center Console or Go Fast?
Naw, just use my conversion kit to convert your Sonic to fishboat/cruiser!
We stay on the boat for up to ten days at a time, cruise New Yawk to Natucket, Miami to Key West. the additional "ten feet" of boat from my products makes all the difference in the world. |
Re: Center Console or Go Fast?
I havent read any suggestions about a go fast with outboards. A 30 with a pair or triples is a compromise. You get the thrill of a go fast with some reliability of outboards.
|
Re: Center Console or Go Fast?
Sonic used to make an SS30 with outboards, HUGE cockpit. I loved that boat, but hated the stink pot motors. Now with the new four stroke motors, it would be a sweet boat.

Re: Center Console or Go Fast?
Oops, my bad. I thought for sure this was for you. You've been hinting around about maybe swapping rides. Thought for sure you were getting more serious.
I've been around. Spent a few days this week in Orlando. The rest is just work. I am ready to retire. Mike |
Re: Center Console or Go Fast?
I think my post count is going backwards. I could swear I had like 332 posts last week.

I saw this sweet looking Yellow Fin today on Us1 between I-95 and Bunnell.

Re: Center Console or Go Fast?
Cuda, those are great CC too. I look at Yellowfin when I bought my Fountain.

Re: Center Console or Go Fast?
The business idea is a good one. How about we grow some weed, transport a little coke, and pimp a few ho's? I've got the land for the weed, you've got the boat for the coke, and we already have a couple of ho's. Couldn't be easier.

Re: Center Console or Go Fast?
Dang it is about dead even! I hope this poll was enlightning to many. I surely did not think it would be this even. However I has seen a HUGE increase in CC sales in the last few years.
To me it just seems that outboards are so much more reliable and cost effeciant and so much less maintanance. I'd love to have another go-fast with twin I/O's but there always seems to be a problem and for me I just want to be out on the water cruising around. |

Time to bring this thread back to the top. We currently have a 38 ft twin step plug w/ an 8.6 beam. Should we go CC or go fast?

Is that why Saber is not going with a head in the console? BTW whats going on with the deck mold for the 41?
|
CC are fishing boats. Go with the "go fast".

Hey Jim .... whats up ? Yeah , no head in console , thats where the tanks go .... Ummmmm , I'm not exactly sure what the status of the CC is at this point ? They are busy finishing up some rigging, wiring , head compartment and bilge cosmetic stuff on mine right now . |
funny you should write this thread, I've been knocking this around for a while....I've been into go fast boats since 1989 and I have to say that I had enough for a little while. I just bought a 38 Donzi ZFX with triple 275's and look forward in chilling out for a while, we'll see what happens....

Brain if you choose to do a CC be sure you make the boat self bailing. Go study some of the best CC self bailing boats to make sure you do it correctly. CC's absolutly must be self bailing.
