A guy in our cove has one. You can get pretty high with very little speed. This guy was probably haulin ass trying to push the limit. He got owned. :evilb:

I bet that the driver didn't have much experience towing a kite tube. :mad: I've pulled a manta ray (Quite a blast) and had to be extremely careful about my speed, wind direction and taking a turn. :eek: A few of my friends went for a swim but nothing compare to this crash.

They are starting to ban and recall those tubes because too many people are getting hurt. My friend has one and at 30 mph he has been as high as 25 feet above the water. He has also had some serious crashes, but says it is a blast. To do it safely you need a combination of good rider and good boat driver to keep it in control. He said one time a guy had one and doubled the rope length and was as high as 60 feet, but then the lake patrol shut him down. I would hate to fall from 60 feet and hit that water !!! Guy sounds like a darwin candidate !!!! :rolleyes:

They have been recalled by the manufacturer. Someone died on one. Several people have been seriously injured.

I believe I have seen the video of the picture above... it was a nasty fall and the guy was seriously injured.

There has been at least one death associated with these tubes. CigDaze is correct, the manufacturer has recalled them... the question is, will that stop anyone from using them???

I saw one for sale at one of our local water sports stores up at the lake and in the window on the bottom of the tube where you look through when you're up in the air the warning label reads "Never fly higher then you are willing to fall". I had to laugh as that about sums it up! Think this guys had that on the tube!? :rolleyes:

Just read in the newspaper that two people have died and they have been banned on several lakes.Buddy of mine just bought one and has some very young kids,I warned him heavily about speed and wind direction affects.

I have a 1990 Pairsail that we used to use, these guys could just use it get 200' and just cut loose :eek: same effect!! Their nutz. The reason we stopped using our parasail is that we felt too much liability.

I mean seriously if someone gets hurt/killed who are they going to sue not themselves, it will be the boat driver/owner/and the company who made it. It not their fault that their dumb :rolleyes:

The round kite tube is just plain nuts.... the video's of people crahcing and burning are crazy! The manta Ray made by Sevylor looks much more stable....

A couple of weeks ago there was a wake-boat full of college age kids riding one of those. We saw a girl go up on it about 12 feet or so, it then did a barrel roll and slammed her into the water. We then saw them pulling her out of the water by her life jacket and speeding off toward the marina they came from. I just hope she was ok, it was a brutal crash.

I bought a parachute about 6 years ago.....that thing is SO COOL!!! You have to have a ski boat to launch it.......offhshore boats are too slow off the line.

Read around ..ALOT of lakes, river and boating havens are outlawing them. Because of a few fatalities and serious accidents..no doubt on human errors, but you can't convince the law
