Re: New Formula FasTech pricing - WTF!?!?

a few years ago I was pricing a Donzi 33 ZX - already talked to a local dealer - could do it for 140-150ish.
Went to a boat show - sales sticker said 260,000 - I asked Joe sales guy, let's get real on this thing - what ya selling for??
He say's " that's it right there".
I was only 28 - so, the sales guy figured it was a joke. At the time I could handle 130, and I was seriously looking, and I knew what I wanted.

So the real price is over 100,000 less than MSRP on this boat??

It's all so confusing - my head hurts now...

If you get around 20% off list/sticker then you are in the ballpark normally on these type of boats. But still that boat would be around $150k...way over priced for a Formula or any 24-29' boat.

That is for a 25' (real length) production-built boat!  Am I nuts or does that seem just flat-out crazy!?!?

I saw a Formula 2007 271 with a single 496HO with a dealer price tag of $106,000 last weekend at the Hydro races.

I can get a 35' fasTech Sport with T-496 HO's for 170K.

The 35' had the 3 tone paint option..head...sound system...the 27' lightly loaded.

But yea...you can double the price of a Porsche' Carrera as well if you put all the options on it....same with these boats...

Plus trailer...taxes etc..

24-27% off at the dealer in Northern Michigan..he will ship anywhere..he is the lowest priced anywhere...169K for a 35' FasTech lightly loaded...no trailer...plus tax..that's a good deal in my books.

It's because of the cost to build them now with the OIL being so out of control. I was talking to Terry Sobo at Nortech about building a new boat and he said same boat from 2005 to 2006 50K more in build cost 70k more from 05 to 07.
