Twin outboard cat sounds like what you want. Faster and handles better than anything you have mentioned. The engines are also cheaper and easier to work on/get to. (Have you ever been upside down in an engine bay in the August heat?) 28 Skater, 30 Spectre, 30 Motion, 30 AMT are all in your price range if you look hard enough. Also, remember -- twins means never having to be towed in.
