Brand new sonic at the lauderdale boat show last year.
all I can figure is OOPS!

The set-up in the first picture will make the boat think its longer, and will continue to influence the boat at high speed with only a small tab angle. If they were wide, they would lift out of the water at speed and you would over compensate with the angle. Than when you go to turn the fun will begin.

Sonic just hasn't cut the tabs yet. Probably just got it ready for the show in time.

Taps are installed on the wrong side. move left tap to the right and right tap to the left

My Bad, your right, I didn't look close enough. They cut the tabs on our pache, so I asumed Sonic was going to do the same.
