My condolences to all affected by this accident.........

I also slept very little last night. The question is always in our minds as to why something like this happens. Here were two boats with extremely experienced drivers, meticulously maintained, and on a large lake. How did a catastophe of this magnitude happen? Time will tell some of the answers but probably not all of them.

As I lay there thinking about all the possibilities, my thoughts drifted to those onboard the two boats and what it would have been like in those last few seconds. I'm sure Flash and Bruce were both doing everything in their power to stop the impending collision. That's what people like them would do. For whatever reasons, it wasn't enough.

As I thought about it more, I tried to find some comfort. Anything that would help to ease the pit in my stomach. Here's what I finally came up with. I wanted to share it with everyone here in hopes it will help to ease their pain a little.

The tragegy that occured cannot be diminished by anything. Time cannot be turned back and the events changed. The only comfort that we can cling to at this point is that all of these people who have instantly perished were doing something that they LOVED. We do not get to pick when, where, or how our lives will end. I'm certain that most of us would much rather be doing something we loved when the time comes. Let's pray that they were all grinning from ear to ear until the last few seconds and that they didn't suffer.

It wasn't time for Bruce. Who knows exactly why. We simply have to accept it and help with in whatever ways that we can. He will need all that we can give.

I don't know what to say, only that this is very disturbing news; two families out to have a fun day and this happenes. Makes my eyes water up. What a terrible tradgedy. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the families.
