Thanks for all the input guys...........looks like I might look much more seriously at a boat with the 575's then I originally would have.........not pulling the trigger on anything yet but I am starting to look.........

Another thing as far as reliability , we raced a full race schedule w/ twin Mercury 575's in 2002. The motors were flawless and were WOT just about every minute they were running. Never a hiccup. I plan on putting one in my 28 next year.

There were two sc's used- the Holley I think had undersized sealed brgs on the back of the rotors. mine seized at 140 hrs and took out the rotors/housing. The other has wet brgs at each end. If you have Holleys I would either change brgs every 75 hrs or just buy the blowershop kit- otherwise strong reliable detuned blower motor. Good luck
