Thumbs up Re: Great Moments in Cat History

T2x , This man is like following a Tom Clancy or Clive Cussler novel, but true. He has forgotten more than most of us will ever know. Please keep it coming.

Now that would have made a great testimonial in one of the Shadow brochures!

While making a new webpage I was again brought backt to this thread and questions about the jesse james 48... looking at some of the photo's I can't tell whether it had fixed and trimable surface drives with rudders, or the whole assembly turned including the props.

I know there was some bad blood between us earlier about asking the "secrets" about this drive set-up, but it is still on my mind and I would like to know some more about it.

thanks for your time

Ernie

Just a little scarey for sure. I was suprised that it did not have a lifting system like used today on most race boats.

I bought the molds from Don at Cigarette, he also gave me the layup schedule to make them the same way as the Cigarettes were made at that time.

When he wanted a clean plug for his new project, without a lot of attention to what he was doing, Don bought a blank 24 hull from me at Banana boat to use as the boat to be split for the 24 foot cat. With twin Merc outboards he ran it over 100 mph.
