As far back as I can remember, I've said that someday I'll own a Cigarette. For that reason alone I'd by the Gun - just to cross one more thing off my list. :D

A Fastec is a choppergun boat I agree with the above posts (Cosmic12) that the Formula dash needs work. Even some past boat tests have said its too simple. Maybe they rely too much on SmartCraft, being that the majority of their installations are Mercury, to give important readouts, but I like having gauges out there to glance at without pushing little buttons at speed But I see the point about having a limit with the gauges, being that the wraparound windshield is still standard ( which looks nice when its in chrome though!) |

I guess all the pics available of hulls being hand-laid and rolled in Decatur were staged? |
Re: 38 fastec vs. 38TG
What do you need (OK, want) out of the boat?
I love the lines of the Cig and agree it's a better rough water boat. The lines are classic and the one off paint is awesome. We overnight often in our boat.....sometimes with 3 kids. Making several hundred mile trips over several days is what we "need" the boat for so Formula won hands down. Still a good quality boat, good resale, and the ride quality is close enough. They are just built for 2 different purposes. |
