MOTION - no question about it.
I bought a 30 Motion Cat outboard about 18 months ago and love it - not much more can be said than what was already said above - you'll love the ride.

from my perspective, insurance is the only real issue - you will pay more to insure a cat than a v. For me its worth it. My wife hated the ride in my 29 Fountain - she loves the cat - and we've been out in some really rough stuff too.
The only insurer of cats in Florida that I am aware of is Markel - call Sy Goldberg at Total Dollar - he has a guy in Texas that got me my insurance. Can't recall his name, but Sy is on this board quite a bit and his company is well respected and known.

Go for it.
I had an Active Thunder prior to the AMT which are both pretty fair comparisons to what your looking at.
I did have some good times in the AT but the AMT flat out rocks on our poker runs.
