By that number, it is a Regal. Again, as long as you have it surveyed, i would not be worried. I looked at that boat (Not to buy) on ebay. Needed some uhpolstery work i thought. If it is like any older boat, it may need some of the wood replaced in the seats.

Needed some interior work. My brother owned the boat then sold it to my cousin and her husband. I bought the boat from them. The boat came with new Stainless Marine exhaust and the 383 rotating assy is still good. I put a new 300hp vortec motor in it. less headaches and a warranty!!

Better have it checked out real good. 1986 means that the floor more than likely has softened esspecially if this boat sat with a cover on it. It's hard to tell how bad it is sitting on the trailer with the hull fully supported. The true test is to put the boat up on stands at the transom and blocks under the vee at the bow and chances are if the floor is bad you would be able to flex the entire boat by just hanging your own weight from the deck toward the bow. There are alot of 22's for sale in Bermuda, most of them used for single outboard racing. The sport has fizzled out over there recently so these boats are now just sitting. Not sure who to contact over there but try www.theroyalgazette.com and check boat classifieds.

The 1986 is a reagal Stepp only built them from 90 till 94 and then stopped. I have a 93 26 with a big block and its a great boat love the lines and style he know how to build a boat. But it is a nice looking craft just make sure its check out and the documantation of repairs (if any) is there accurated and dated and or up to date

You can go to Velocity's web site and look at the history of the Velocity brand. I am pretty sure that Steve sold the molds to Regal in 1986 and worked for them for a couple of years. That is when he started building the thouroughbreds for a handful of years.
Gripperone, Good luck with your search. The surveyor that I gave you a link to was very cool. The 93 Thouroughbred I had him survey was "not the boat for me" in his opinion. He gave me an option to back out of the full survey and sent me money back!
