a survey is the responsibility of the buyer, not the seller. i don't blame him for not splitting it with you. a survey is very cheap insurance to keep you from buying a bad boat when your spending a considerable amount of $$ for a toy.

the survey will tell you exactly what the boat IS and will list any all and every issue with it. if there are issues, at least you will know what they are, and can negotiate a price with the seller on the cost to fix the issue(s).

Gripperone, I owned a 22' Velocity for 19 years, It was a 1985 Steve Stepp model . I bought it when it was one year old and kept it till June 2006. The gentlemen I sold it to has it for sale on Scream and Fly. His Name is Tom Foley. The boat was used in freshwater all but the last 4 hours of its life . I put a Promax300 merc outboard on it in 1999 and it has approximately 180 hrs on it. Between Tom and I we can tell you any information you need on the boat. Frank

Aside from being a boatbuilder, I'm also a Surveyor. I copied and pasted this from Buc.net. It will give you a ballpark. A buddy of mine sold that same boat for $ 7,200.

Thanks FX10 and Velocity 22. The boat I'm looking at needs some interior work and the seller won't accept less than $12850 for it. I really like the boat but I'm starting to think I could find a better deal if I wait.

They pulled it out changed all fluids plugs, etc fired up and ran fine needs new interior but boat, engine, drive and trailer are all fine..good deal ? bad deal ? no blisers transum is solid

Did you convert to a bravo drive or still alpha ? Can't tell by the pics if it is a bbc or sbc. Very cool boat, one of my all time favorites. Good luck with the sale, I doubt it will sit very long , nice pice
