I can hear the blower whine, but the exhaust is louder.

How is the noise in the cockpit compared to running them forward?

The noise (from the scoops) is not objectionable.

Honestly, i really dont know, its a canopied race boat.
But i have ridden in the back seat of multiple skaters with front scoops and I really cant tell much difference.
