Thanks for your email and concern, I appreciate your candor and don't worry, there will be no eggs ;-). People of the forum will respect that you are looking out for their best interests, let's put it behind us so that the forum can again focus on supporting the project.

This is a legitimate personal email address for Colin Walker who is a supporter of Earthrace and has proven to be a valuable asset towards the cause. There are many supporters and relationships fostered over the past 6 months specifically for the world record attempt, some more committed than others, but most with legitimate appreciation for the effort and genuine intentions ... we make no judgements and offer anyone the opportunity to prove themselves a genuine supporter.

Though there are a select few who are considered official team members per the "Team" link on our website and have been authorized earthrace.net domains, Colin has simply chosen a creative email that was available via hotmail. There is no real difference between official Earthrace team members and genuine supporters, we all fit the same profile ... addicted to supporting Earthrace at all costs ! Colin stand independent, as many do, on his personal mission/quest to do what he can to support Earthrace.

I'll be clear in that all financial support is to be funnelled to John Allen our operations manager and that noone is to accept charitable donations on behalf of Earthrace without approval by John. If you have any doubts, please deal directly with official Earthrace "Team" members as noted on the website.

Thanks again guys and gals of offshoreonly.com and let's see what we can come up with in the next 3 days ... and it's cool to buy a T-shirt, DVD or poster from the website ... just buy about 4,000 of them :-)

That woke me up!

OK, David has cleared up the legitimacy of my quest to raise funds for Earthrace. I have 5 good solid leads from members of the forum for witch I am very grateful.

I have not just come cap-in-hand to offshore.com, I am also looking for money raising ideas. I am sure a good few of you have had to source sponsorship for your own adventures?

Also I would like you guys to know I am not after any % cut, I am helping out in my free time for a good cause.

My Earthrace email address is simply an Alias that forwards emails to my personal email address, this is very common for those that have more than one email address but do not want to check more than one ISP. My rochester.rr.com address is one I've had for 10 years, thus the earthrace.net email is fairly new and simply forward to my rochester.rr.com ISP account. When I respond to emails you will see my rochester.rr.com email address since that is the ISP I am sending and receiving from. You'll see the same thing for all of the Earthrace team members, some of them have personal email accounts from gmail.com "on behalf of earthrace.net" and you'll see that domain when they respond. There is no scamming here my friend, you are stretching your point farther than necessary ;-)

or are you asking for it to be given through other means
which would raise only more doubt

i have sent several emails to members of earthrace from an unpublished email address and am awaiting replys

may i suggest the use of earthrace.net email address when asking for donations and then directing people to your paypal donation page
