the buffing and waxing of the deck plug is complete

the red can is the tooling gelcoat of the mold. the wax (on the black) will allow the separation of the deck plug from the deck mold

after the deck is buffed and many coats of wax, the red tooling gelcoat is applied.

The wax will allow the red gelcoat to separate from the deck plug

the red gelcoat will not harden fully until the laminates are applied on top of the red gelcoat...

layers of laminates are applied on top of red gelcoat...

Then a frame is built around the laminates , together [red gelcoat, laminates, metal tubes] makes up the deck mold

wheels are welded onto metal tubes to allow moving the tooling around in the shop

straps are tied around the metal frame and is used to "pop" the deck mold from the deck plug

the deck mold again is made up of [red gelcoat, laminates, metal tubes] which is getting lifted here
