I hadn't heard of a 308 going over either, the only one I'd heard of I thought was a 28. There are so many factors that are involved with a blow over though and I don't think length of the boat is a primary factor in most cases. To me it's more dependent on setup, and to a much larger extent conditions and operation.

I'm sure I saw a vid of a 308 that was converted to 400s. It was a white boat. It happened early this year as I recall.

There was a 308 that ended up upside down. However it was not a blow over but the boat kited and hit on a sponson. Hooked and rolled up on the rub rail. Eventually ended up over. That being said and owning a 308 with 300x motors anyone that thinks these O/B powered cats are safe with 400r's hanging on the back without some serious consideration in rigging and CG are safe are sadly mistaken. I know what it takes to keep my bow down in the real world with 200lbs less hanging on the transom. Watch some of the runs from LOTO. Yes they turn big numbers strung out over miles and being light you better be on your toes for any unforeseen wind, waves etc. One builder already recognized the issue and made changes to their bottoms already to provide a safer running hull. However with that comes a price and slower speeds.

That's what I'm thinking. The advertised speeds on the WB are in the low 120s on 400s and 115 on 300s. I'm an old guy so I don't need to run 120 or even 115. It just seems that a boat of this length would be over-cooked w/ 400s. I'm absolutely stunned that there is only a $22K difference between the 2. I was expecting $30K to $35K. I just think the 300s on the WB hull would be as efficient and fast and most boats in the sport cat class.

Which builder do you speak of? And what were the results? Just how much slower?

Precision
I would rather leave that up to them to comment. Being in the industry and dealing with all kinds of boat builders you see and here a lot. I do not proclaim to be an expert and respect how much time and effort boat builders put into their products. As you know there is a lot of competition out there now and they are all working hard. Good news is it makes all have better products.
Regarding speed I can say that my boat can lose 3-4 mph if I set it up conservatively for rough water

I really like my boats to run 20% faster than I would run. I feel the engines will last longer. I don't run my truck wot.

It would be nice to see some updates on the WB w/ 400s. Finished interior? Maybe some test numbers?

Hey Joe, the interior is taking a bit longer than expected. It seems that the interior is in its final leg of assembly. I'm curious too as to how the WB will perform with the additional weight of a full interior.

I also asked the owner to video tape the whole test run....we'll see. I post them as I get them...no sugar coating on any performance numbers!

Care to go boating by yourself without all the cleaning and other "helpers"? The Predator V21 is just the ticket. With a single outboard and 4 stroke 300R motor, you can be in the water in no time, have a personal roadster with all the modern electronics. When the day is done and you start the cleaning chores, you'll be done in no time and put-away very quickly.

This is what Arnaldo at Predator Powerboats aims in achieving with his latest 90+MPH 21 foot v-hul. All-Vacuum bagged and offshore capable. When its time to rest, the 21 can be easily beached and in a few minutes you're laying down in the sand....lazily looking at your 21 swaying with the wind.
