Those bad boys are poppin fresh!! You know what would be a great plug? If a world famous, super stud racer was getting a 25 center console. That would put Predator boats off the charts!!:D

Hey Dave,
As I'm getting on in my years, we were talking about retiring the Catkiller and maybe settling down with a nice canopied cat. You know, not going so fast might be a little better for the ticker.:D Louie PS If you guys behave, I'll take you for a ride in my brandy new "Predator Center Console" I'll drop you and Dean off at Cherry Grove for the afternoon. LOL God I crack myself up. |

this might be a good hull. too hard to tell w/o a good build thread. with the 400 verado demand, the 30' length does not have a bunch of competition, especially in the legal to tow beams. if they haven't yet done it, they must have a full wrap windshield to compete in this market.

PPI interior for the above Yellow C30 w/ 400R motors. PPI (Primier Performance Interiors) located in Sarasota, FL does incredible work. They are swamped with work...proly a good indicator for the economy? http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...ow_400R/p1.jpg http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...ow_400R/p2.jpg http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...ow_400R/p3.jpg http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...ow_400R/p4.jpg |

how's the wide body run compared to standerd boat ?
thank's mike |
.
Hi Mike, Predator doesn't yet have the info to compare the top-end speeds with similar power. That info will come soon though as there is a yellow C30 (std. beam) being rigged with 400R motors by East Coast Marine in Long Island, NY I will post numbers of the yellow 400R boat as soon as I get them from Predator Powerboats. Would luv to someday see how the wide body runs with a pair of 300XS. Lake Havasu testing grounds https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4507/...ffca2a1c_b.jpg . |
Those boats are pretty! But I would be scared around the docks with no rubrail. And I'm pretty good around the docks!
|
.
rubrails are an option for those who want them. The metal portion of the rubrails can be powder coated to allow for color matching to the hull's graphics https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4493/...1959c0f2_b.jpg . |
Those boats are made in Patchogue right? My old stomping grounds. I grew up in Medford and spent a lot of time on the water in Patchogue as a kid.

Any speeds on the Wide Body yet Noli? That thing looks incredibly wide .... Should be a rocket!
They tested 3 props so far. The boat reached 118 MPH with MAX5 33" props at the limiters. Then they tested (not CNC) 34" cleaver props and reached 121 at the limiters. Sandy (owner/distributor west coast) said that at wide open throttle, the cat was so nimble and sharp at the turns, he was totally impressed. Waiting on the interior to be completed then the MAX5 34" props will be tested. Sandy prefers the MAX5 over the cleavers. Folks wanting a demo ride, please let me know and I would be happy to set it up with Sandy in Havasu. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4489/...a29fc563_b.jpg |

I enjoy your posts and find them really informative. BTW, I love the pic of the little outboard boat on your profile. I can just smell the exhaust from that little merc. Very cool. Anyway, I know the conventional wisdom is to throw as much horsepower as one can on a boat like the new WB and then go out and risk life and limb to see what one ends up with. In my mind, the WB with 300s would be a set-up that could be the best sportt cat out there. I saw one Skater 308 w/ 400s that went over backwards so in my mind anything 30'or under may not be enough boat w/ 400s. How much w/300s |
.
Hey Joe, The 300XS has awesome power. As much as I hope MercuryRacing to keep these motors around, it seems inevitable that the demise of the 2 strokes is closer than we think. The Predator widebody was a response to market requirements for a better platform to handle the heavier and more powerful 400R motors and beyond. With just a price difference of only $20K for two motors and with warranty extensions to 3 years, fly-by-wire throttle&shift, quieter operation, electro-hydraulic steering, the new Vesselview 903, etc., I think one would enjoy the 400R much more. I myself have found a great likeness to the 400R only after I saw the performance that the widebody achieved with just 200 additional HP over the 300XS. I'm sure Arnaldo will build you anything you want though. Would love to see a widebody with 400R motors running in the Tampa Bay area :) . |
