Funny - on the way to the lake Friday morning my wife asked me "Have you heard any news / updates on that guy you bought the raffle ticket for a while back on OSO and how he is doing?" - and I said I hadn't but would ask come Monday...

Good news Todd - glad to hear all is going well, keep fighting the good fight!!

I am confused- getting better or thought you were getting better and now some thing else came up (re: post #30)? quote

the above link is to Todd's journal on the carrngbridge website, it seems like on Sunday morning his platelets dropped. He has great doctors and a fighting spirt so hopefully this is just a small bump.

Well I guess I should have kept my mouth shut .
I wrote the update Saturday early and Saturday evening I was in the ER and then admitted into the hospital. My bone marrow has stopped making platelets which are the part of your blood that helps form clots. Normal counts are 150-500 thousand. Critical is from 15-10 thousand for internal bleeding and such things. My counts when we got here were 2 thousand. I have had a few transfusions and they have only brought my counts up to 4 thousand. They are going to give me some drug that will try to kick start the marrow hopefully over the next couple days that will work if not they can give me a mini transplant from left over cells from the first transplant which were frozen.
I will keep you all updated as we learn what is going on it is going to take a few days to figure out why.
Thanks for all your love and support!
Todd and Melissa Lahey
