It's not JT...JT had the knowledge and skill to even get that Cig to 160 and to back off when it was not handling correctly. the "funny" part is how that kilo run was touted as going for the world record against Fountain and then they changed the media release and put a new spin on it as just the fastes Cig ever built.
Still the boat when it was turned into a pleasure boat was ultra nice!

I never heard any of these guys directly say that they were going to set a new speed record. I'm not doubting anyone's post on here but can only go by what I was told directly.

I think they made their point - 172 MPH...

Who knows the "if's" and "but's"... Bottom line, Fountain holds the Kilo record, OL stays on their heels, and both do very well in flat water. Cigarette, still builds the best offshore boat in the business.

Well, at least that's my opinion, anyway.

I believe that thing in the background (F22 Raptor) should do it! I think the old F4 Phantom still holds some records.

Hey Joe, How is the Cig. I had the 42 Tiger tied up to you in Islamorada at dock. Are you doing Key West in November?

By the way, I was also a Cig owner who recently went back to a Cat and those speeds in a vee are nuts, They do not have the stability like Cats do and that is probably why the best throttle man of all times backed off. He is used to being in a Cat winning races. Of course the water conditions play a huge role.
