Thanks to Poker Runs America / Power Boating Canada for putting on an incredible poker run. This event has gone from what I have considered to be a high risk event to one of the safest I have ever been on.
The key seemed to be in moving away from the 2 mass group starts of the past, to starting the boats in pairs every 10 to 15 seconds with the over 80 mph group going first.
The effect was to spread the field out and it worked perfectly. The 1,000,s of spectator boats that lined the coarse gave us a good lane. There were still a few idiots ( spectators ) that liked to play with danger and make their way onto the coarse.
It was easy to navigate around them with the boats being spread out.
Weather was perfect.
I have only a few pics and no running shots so if someone can post pics would be great.

I'll post some shots later. It was great to finally catch up with you Bob.
We were the number 2 pace boat, and running next to Predator made a great weekend that much more enjoyable.
I really hope PRA keeps the start format, for something that seemed pretty confusing at the meeting, it went off perfectly live. It will only be better next year. It was also good to see all of the Marshal boats again, they were everywhere.

This year's run was the best ever! The new start made it safe and enjoyable. Going into the run there was not one person I knew who thought the 2 x 2 start would work let alone be fun but boy were we wrong!
Kudos to PRA and PBC!
Another kudos to the Outerlimits crew who got Bill Taylor's (Poker Runs America) broken FOUNTAIN! up and running!
Apparently their loyalty to the sport was unefffected by smear tactics advertising!
