5-6's means there is going to be an 8 or better occasionally, I'd rather not be in any 28 footer in those conditions if it can be avoided.

Your probly right. Saw their website and it looks like the 27 Cobra has two steps, so it ought to have a better ride. BUT if all we cared about was a better/smoother ride then we would all be running cats. Different boats for different folks - all I care about is can I run this thing is stuff that most similar sized boats wouldn't even think of and how is the boat going to be hold up after I put it through hell for 10+ years.
