Years ago I fitted one [asd 6a] into a 24' panther [popoff of a 24 superboat but with a pad. It had a 454 LS6 450HP in it. I liked it alot. I couldn't break it. I had no problems docking, very fuel efficient I used the prop that Howard sent with the drive. No tabs No handeling problems at speed. Here are the problems I did have. I had to move the engine quite a bit for the transmission and u joint coupler.[Now you can use a standoff box to get the engine back] The boat did ride flat and bow steer in calm water If I was running hard and had to backoff fast the boat would turn hard to the right without notice almost to a spinout. After doing that a few times I learned to steer to the left when backing off. I think they work better as a twin setup. Has any body ever setup a single engine twin drive with a split gear box. I would like to see that. Good luck with your project, just be carefull with the steering thing when backing off the stick fast

The boat was called The Pressure's ON and was a 24 ft. Rumblephish, with a 700 hp Baker Racing Engine with a AC Surface Drive. Owner/Throttles: Tony C. Currier, St. Clair, MI
