I'm curious about the drive.
Why not a pulse drive.
I'm sure Harry has done it to single engine plane v bottoms.
I'm sure at least one 31' Infinity had a pulse drive and it had a DDC hull but can't remember if the swim platform transom was a over hang or dropped off as the transom. But similar length.

The more I look at this, there is no reason this application should not work. It is a 28 bottom, which is basically a shortened 32, no step, no pad, straight bottom. If the prop gaurd were taken off getting on plane would work better, at least it was on the Hustler. This should be a 85-90 mph boat. Keep us informed on the project. Good Luck Jeff

Buddy of mine had a Steve Jones 28' deep V back in 1980 .
Had an Arneson [ bronze housing] drive with single twin
turbo BB 460 Ford in it . Boat ran great other than maneuvreing at idle to park it in his slip . I'd love to have that boat today. Unfortunately it got on fire and burned to the waterline . RIP "Putt-Putt .Wish I took a photo of it before it happened .

I am not sure of a single but I do know they have done a twin. There was a 86 Hustler that was in Virgina for a period of time. The boat ran 88mph. I believe that it is for sale and is listed on boattrader.com

I spent quite a bit of time in that boat & it was w/o a doubt one of the funnest boats. The former owner is a member here on OSO (good2go38). That boat had a pair of SBC that were pretty stout.

I see no reason why the single asd on that AT would not work. I would love to be the test dummy I mean pilot !!!

The only problem i see is that pulse drives rely 100% on rudder to turn....singe engine rudder boats are worthless to back up and dont manuver slow speeds very well (they do make a double rudder, single prop pulse but the trim issue remains.) The whole arneson drive turns. The pulse system also raises everything out of the water when you trim it up....the rudder comes up and out of the water=less steering and could be dangerous. At least the arneson skeg can remain in the water when its trimed up and you still have thrust steering. Arneson is a proven, sellable, bad azz system. They make all sorts of skegs, hydrofoils, and props for em to cure most any issue.

I worked on a 28sh LSSCARAB project boat a few years back,
It has twin canopies and Arnesion drive with Arnesion trim plates built into the hull.
The rigging and the Arnesion drive, trim plates were done
by Paul Abreu up north in Alameda CA.
I have some photos but I can not post them is there someone
who could post then if I emailed them "BUCK183" perhaps
