Now don't you all go and pizz ol Fred off. We don't want him to go deleting all his post............again.

He started off with good intentions, just isn't able to follow thru on them.
I agree with Audiofn, you guys that have unfilled orders placed with him better be calling your banks now.

DirtyMoney 11-15-2007 05:05 PM

I ordered Lifelines in July and got them the following week. I have seen some situations like this where it was an employee stealing money from orders which would explain why some are filled and others are not, but that is just speculation.

I need some items picked up from Trick...any volunteers?

You cannot sell for just over cost and stay in business for long. Everyone got great and sometimes unbelievable deals and now look what has happened. And people wonder why?

There is nothing wrong with a company charging and a customer paying fair market price for quality products, especially if you are getting great service.

Personally I have never had an issue with Fred he was very nice and pleasant.

Professionally - - - now that's a different story. And there are many others who feel the same way.

As a member, advertiser and even competitor of Trick Marine I would just like to say that Fred has been very much appreciated, at least from my perspective.

Fred has forced all of us in the marine industry to take a good hard look at our businesses and business practices and if you were not offering products at a fair price with outstanding customer service it was going to be hard to compete. On the other hand, you can only sustain slashing your prices for so long. There is not as much margin in this industry as some might think, so offering "rock bottom" prices is hard to do long-term. Regardless, in the end the consumer benefited.

Now I do not know all the details or the situation that Trick Marine is in, but I can tell you that this business is brutal and at times can suck the life right out of you. However, we do this because we are also avid boaters and have a genuine interest in serving the performance boat market. Unfortunately, despite your intentions, it is easy to find yourself in trouble in this business and quickly...I have been doing it 7 years and does not get any easier.

I only hope that Trick Marine can take care of those customers that are waiting on parts or credits, and Fred I wish you the best of luck on whatever you decide to do moving forward.

Sincerely,
Don B.

Kudos to you, very classy post :ernaehrung004:

I noticed that also Tony. He knows what is going on, how could he not? One has to wonder why he would choose to ignore the entire thing. Has anyone looked to see when the last time he was logged on to OSO was? Has he deleted his posts on hear like he has in the past?

With no dog in this fight, again, and all due respect to those who are asking for explanations from Fred ...

What possible upside there could be for him to "chime in" here? What's he going to say? That he isn't having delivery problems? That all is well and his business is thriving and that the guys complaing are liars?

What could Fred say to make it right? That he made some big mistakes running his business? That he's sorry?

Based on this thread, Trick Marine is in deep trouble. Regardless, there's really nothing Fred can say to make it right (and there are probably really good legal reasons for him to avoid speaking up at this point).

So does he owe us all some kind of explanation? The customers who are waiting for their stuff ... most definitely, they deserve explanations and, lacking that, full refunds. But the rest of us, supporters or detractors, he owes nothing.

At this point, I think Fred would have a hard time giving away boats, much less boat parts. My suggestion? Leave the man alone. He has enough trouble. No public declaration of anything on his behalf will change that.

Its too bad that when the people that were having problems with him told their stories on here they were basically told to shut up and go away along with the deleting of their threads.

I wonder how many names were added to the list as a result of those actions? Moderating at its best.

Hope those on the short side get some positive resolution.

Act sooner rather than later.

.

I remember that time.

He was pissed at everyone on OSO. Headed to speedwake and was never coming back.

Maybe I missed something in the past but a few years ago when I was redoing my boat it seemed his prices where not any cheaper than the big guys after adding all the others costs to the total. That was the reason I never placed an order with Trick. Trick shipping was always more.

I hope it all works out for all of you and Fred. I feel bad for the guys with the big orders that may not have deep pockets like some.

tomas_wallin 11-16-2007 03:03 AM

Now Tricks email is down as well!

That's what you get from placing multiple $10k orders as a returning customer.

This is a b|tch!

Can't see why James (Big Daddy) or Fred (that I'm pretty sure is lurking around in this thread) can't give us at least an explanation...

YES he should say he is sorry to his customers, it would probably go a long way to making it at leaste better. People are more forgiving then one would think as long as they know what is going on and that there is a plan in place that they are going to be made whole again. Does he owe it to the board? Well I kind of think he does because he was able to start his business because of OSO and Scream and fly. He certainly owes an explanation to his paying customers. If he is the stand up guy that so many of you say that he is then he would be calling people back or returning emails, not continuing to do business on ebay and be damned with these other people. Everyone makes mistakes, it is how they deal with them that makes the man. So far I am disapointed in Fred.

LubeJobs42 11-16-2007 06:18 AM

I have purchase $$$ THOUSANDS$$$$ worth of merchendise and haven't had a problem. Any errors were always corrected. I have known Fred for years and think there has to be a logical solutiion. I can not see Fred screwing anyone. I remember when he closed his Burger King, He met his supplier on Sunday morning to allow them to pick up all the unused inventory. Most people would have had burgers for life if they closed their store. I truley hope there is a logical explanation. For several reasons. One, I like Fred, two, I need a lot of stuff for the little Donzi I bought. Fred, if you need anything you have my number!

All I know, and need to know really, is that Trick Marine owes me $1050+ and that they need to deal with it in some way!

I have given Fred a few alternatives to solve this, hopefully he will get back to me.

Close a Burger King? How does that happen?

AB From Windsor 11-16-2007 08:41 AM

I can't believe that there is no information about Trick Marine or that none of his close friends or family are specking out about where Fred is and what has happened. It is a mystery how someone can just disappears from sight and there is no communications with anyone, specifically family, friends and loyal customers. Are things that bad that he or anyone knowing just can't say Fred is OK or he's out of business. It must be.

When people file bankrup, they list it in the local paper around here by law. anyone looking in the local SC paper?

Yup that is what I remember and I also remember him saying that the company (Burger King) was getting hard to deal with.

VetteLT193 11-16-2007 09:17 AM

I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this, but it looks like every part listed on the Trick web site has this notice attached:

" This Product Can't Be Purchased Online
Call us For Details. "
