I agree totally- I only need to drive a gasser once and have it downshift going up the same hills my diesel never downshifts on, and I'm right back into a diesel. There's no substiture for the torque made by a diesel engine!

If you use the torque all the time then fine, most don't use it to it's full potential which includes me, not worth the $6k additional investment. V10 with 4.10s will suit me fine, the expense of the diesel maintenance/repairs will be worth the occasional downshift, I only pull a 33' boat short distances and the truck is my daily driver too. I'm also tired of the noise, stink, sluggish response, and vibration of the diesel.
No fouled plugs, no ignition module.. I agree they are more expensive when they do break luckily it is not often! |

I don't pay for gas, company does. This thread made me look today at diesel prices. Chevron $3.94 and Texaco $3.99!

My old man runs home heating oil in his 47' motoryacht which he just paid $ 2.35 per gallon for over 600 gallons which doesnt last long. He always said if you cant afford the gas then you cant afford the boat.
