A couple of Q's What block are you basing the diesel power of off. A one of or something used in the big 3. With tuners like hp tuning and efilive are you going to be able to lockthe ecm or can somebody read and break the code to bump up with out going into the internals or with the motor be built to the maxhptrq in that application with no room to upgrade. the 600hp and 1200trq numbers are an odd set to "pick" out of a diesel line up.
|
I'm not talking a modified unwarrantied application,I'm speaking of a big 3 currently manufactured engine and cummings marine, and Louie at CDM the largest distributor of cummings in the world and as head of their marine division the 5.9 is offered only at max of 480hp/949lbstorque/2200 and weight is 1426lbs, the only motor stock making 600hp is the 8.3 litre at 1980lbs. right off their website, any motor can be reprogrammed, but again no warranty, that is not what we are after, understand that. have no idea where you got 600 and change weight for the engine complete drop in ready, you need to recheck your numbers, are you from the usa, we use lbs for weight.

Based on Cummins site, the Gov spec HO/GS shows 473 hp @ 3400/940 #' @2200, 1350 # dry, and restricted to 1 hour out of 8 wot. That may be usable but going to 600 or 1000 in a boat app, cruising in the upper rpm ranges looks questionable.

Quit bloviating about subjects you are ignorant about. Go get INSITE QUALIFIED. Oh yea by the way the after market tuners in the automotive market have already cranked the QSB up to the 1000+ hp level.
