This is quite possibly the most entertaining thread I have ever read...... I swear I love America....Buddy's the dreamer, Donzi is the technical realist, we even have some gamblers, and even some buyers at $40k....
What I think doesnt matter but anyone expecting Buddy to offer you a diesel repower package for $40k deserve to loose $40k. The fact of the matter is Cummings & Cat are MAJOR motor manufactures that have more money and time than all of us on the forum combined. If there was an application for a go fast boat that would out perform a gas engine it would be wildly avaliable on the market already. There might be some R & D work being done right now by Cummings or Cat, but nothing solid yet from what I have heard.....NOT that I have been shopping for a diesel either. Buddy is not going to "beat" Cummings, Cat, or any other engine manufacture to the market with his super transmission or should I say stolen transmission pics from another thread mated to any proven diesel motor that fits the weight and power requirements for a go fast application.
In essence Buddy is not going to discover anything Cummings or Cat doesnt already know....I applaud the effort but I dont see it happening.....I'll even up the anty to $5k to $1....
