Lets See Pics of Those "Little" Boats!

Home made.
Boat was '69 w/a 15" transom that I raised to 20". I kept pix's of the 40 yr old bone dry plywood core too for all of the anti wood guys.
Amazingly, one of the most fun boats to drive that I've ever owned.
It needed more set back though. Went the fastest (48.6 GPS) hanging off the back seat while steering w/your foot.
Scared the crap out of one of my buddies on his 60 mph jet ski one time when we raced from one of the islands to our inlet and back. He beat me by about 50'. Course, I lost a pair of shoes and a life jacket in the process.
Was fun spanking V-6 flats boats and center consoles too.
Took it to the Keys one time before the Sonic was done and put 90 mls on the GPS in 3 days
Proof that w/speed......., it's all relative. 100 in a big heavy boat or 50 in a tiny one. Dollar per dollar, the tiny one is tough to beat.
Interesting too that one of my offshore buddies down here told me that ALL of his offshore friends also have small, single O/B go fasts as well.

The Mrs doesn't care about speed any more and I still need a regular fix.
Here's my plan.....
She sleeps in on Saturday and Sunday mornings so I can have some (free) me time. I'm thinking a late '60's - early '70's, 15' - 16' Checkmate/Baja w/a V-4. Stripped down (weight), old school OPC racing spec, center seat, center steer.
Head out in the morning and run the 30 mls to Melbourne (or similar) @ WFO and stop there for breakfast and to stop shaking.
Figure it should run 70+ and in the river slop........., I'd need a cigarette at breakfast and I don't smoke

Run it home afterwords then back in the field under cover where it's not costing me anything like the other boats did (in depreciation) until I need the next fix.
Figure I can probably do it for $3K or less.
I restored a '69 16' w/a 140 yrs ago and it and was an absolute blast to drive fast.

Ass! Yammie powered too. Guess that makes you Canadian eh?
Chuck Martini went 2 yrs unbeaten in a 21' Triad w/a JohnRude in ODBA Lake Racer class.
Cool too that I saw Chuck at a drag rally rally in Houston several yrs ago and he was driving the same boat w/an E-tec powerhead on a Taylor shorty mid.
Awesome boat Dude and great pix's.

Thats way cool. Grew up on the parents cruiser doing 3 wks from the Ohio, Lake Erie shore line to Georgian Bay and back. Can't even imagine having a fun boat back there. Definitely Gods country.
Some of my favorite childhood memories.
And thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated.
BTW, I like "garage engineer", mind if I use it

If you're ever up north again... Drop me a line! That would be an amazing tour of the great lakes you went on!

Being right on the Intracoastal I'm kinda jones'n for something similar. Most of the stuff in my pix's were too high dollar for what I want next.
