Simple fix. You will need a puller (3 jaw or 3 bolt if the hun has tapped holes in it). Attach the puller and snug the fine threaded center bolt. From snug give it at least one full turn but no more than two or you will hammer the threaded shaft. If the wheel hasn't popped off allready then take a medium hammer (yes you can do it) and give the center bolt a good wrap. Don't belt it, just a nice solid wack. That should knock it off the taper.
If this doesn't work just sawzall the helm out.

Let us know if it fits, I heard over on Donzi.net that there are 3 different 6 bolt patterns. I'm trying to figure out which one is which, never seem to get a straight answer. Everyone wants to sell me a wheel + hub.

IS OSO back to normal? Nice to see some light harted comments, and get a few chuckles. Besides, I had a steering wheel issue a few years back. Could not get it off no matter what I did. Tried all of the above. Now I have a nice ripped out dash as a big paper weight and the wheel is still attached.
I swear it's welded on.

Here's another idea-
Take about 80' of chain and secure one end to the wheel. Secure the other end to something solid- like the main support member of your home. Then, hook the boat's trailer to your truck. Start your truck, put it in gear and accelerate away at the highest possible speed. If your home is well built, it should only partially collapse. The asphalt scrapes on the bottom of the boat that happened when it was torn from the trailer should probably buff out. Now, attach a $6 puller to the hub and remove it.
